Situated between Central Asia and the Middle East, which has three-quarters of the world’s oil and natural gas reserves, and Europe, one of the largest consumers, our country has a strategically important position.

Çalık Petrol Arama Üretim Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. started its activities before 2012 as the Petroleum and Gas Department under Çalık Enerji in 2003 with drilling services in Turkmenistan.

In this context, the drilling of 27 high pressure and temperature wells to increase oil and natural gas production in Korpedje, Akpatlavuk and South Yoloten Fields for Turkmenistan’s National Petrol Company has been successfully completed.

Çalık Enerji, began oil and natural gas exploration and production activities in Turkey with two exploration licenses in Thrace region received in 2006. After the exploration carried out in the licenses in the Thrace Region and the subsequent production activities, the operation phase started. Exploration activities, Turkey’s hydrocarbon Anatolia Region Southeast, the most fertile region in terms of potential, the Diyarbakır-Mardin province within the borders continued taking two licenses in 2009 and the first wells he had dug in 2010 realized oil discovery in Çalıktepe-1 well.

In 2010, Çalık Enerji established a strategic partnership with a Canadian oil company in 8 exploration licenses owned in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Within the scope of the partnership, 750 km of two-dimensional (2D) and 217.5 km² of three-dimensional (3D) seismic data collection and 4 exploration wells were drilled in 2011-2012.

In addition to traditional oil production, necessary analyzes were made in the Dadaş Formation, which has a source rock feature, in Çalıktepe-2 well, which was opened in 2011 for non-traditional oil production.

Our oil and natural gas exploration and production activities continues under Çalık Petrol Arama Üretim Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. that founded in 2012.

Çalık Petrol continues its activities with a total of 8 exploration licenses and 6 operating licenses, in addition to the licenses taken over from Çalık Enerji.

In 2014, oil production started with the 40º API light oil discovery made in the Batı Çalıktepe-1 well. While the Batı Çalıktepe Field was being developed, the Güney Çalıktepe Field with the same gravity as the Güney Çalıktepe-1 well was discovered in 2016.

Production continues with 2 wells in the West Çalıktepe Field and 8 wells in the South Çalıktepe Field. As of March 2020, total production from two fields has reached 1 million barrels.

As Çalık Petrol, in 2016, a strategic partnership was established with High Power Petroleum LLC, a resident of London, in our 7 licenses we have within the scope of the Cudi, Pervari and Botan Projects. Within the scope of this partnership, two-dimensional (2D) seismic data collection is planned in the Botan Project in 2020.

Our goal as a company, in that we have exploration licenses in Turkey and abroad will make taking a license to increase our production with new discoveries and hydrocarbons of Turkey’s contribution to the economy is to consume the hydrocarbons need to meet some of them.
