West Çalıktepe Field

The West Çalıktepe field in the Diyarbakır Region was Çalık Petrol’s first economic discovery in the region. High gravity (40 API) oil was found in the West Çalıktepe-1 Well, whose drilling was completed in May 2014, and the Ordovician aged Bedinan sandstone Formation at a level of 2187 meters (-1446 m ss).

The completed well was put into production with a flow rate of 140 barrels / day by installing a horsehead pump on June 16, 2014. In order to develop the field, the Batı Çalıktepe-2 well was drilled in the first quarter of 2015 and the well with a pump installed was put into production with a flow rate of 70 barrels / day. In order to determine the potential of the eastern regions of the field, Batı Çalıktepe-3 well, which was opened in the second quarter of 2015, was commissioned with a flow rate of 20 barrels / day. However, after a short while, the oil flow rate of the well decreased and the water flow increased. In the stimulation operation, the well was temporarily abandoned because it turned into water. Production continues in the field with 37 barrels / day from two wells. A cumulative 123700 barrels of oil was produced from the field.

Çalıktepe Field

Çalıktepe Field Oil exploration in Paleozoic structure was carried out with Çalıktepe-1 well, which was dug within the exploration license no 4494, obtained in 2008. Testing was produced from the well and a total of 600 barrels of oil was produced in 2010. In 2012, the opening of Çalıktepe-2 well in the same structure and the economic oil production from this well could not be provided, so both wells were temporarily abandoned. However, Çalıktepe-1 well was commissioned again in 2017 and 2082 barrels of oil was produced cumulatively in 2017 and 2018.

South Çalıktepe

The three-dimensional seismics thrown in the region were evaluated and the South Çalıktepe-1 well was drilled in the first quarter of 2016 in the determined prospect. The exploration of oil with 40o API gravity at a depth of 2225 meters (-1443 m ss) was carried out in the Paleozoic aged Bedinan sandstone targeted well in the region. The well was completed and it was put into production with a pump with a flow of 180 barrels / day. The South Çalıktepe-2 well, which was opened in the first quarter of 2017 to develop the field, started production with an artesian flow of 560 barrels / day and has been the most successful of the Paleozoic-targeted wells in the region until that day. The first annual production of the well has exceeded 100 thousand barrels. Subsequently, the South Çalıktepe-3 well was drilled and with an artesian flow of 614 barrels / day in this well, it became the well that started production with the highest flow rate among the wells opened in the region until that day. The site was developed in the east and west direction and a total of 9 wells were dug on the building. The site boundaries were determined with the last drilled wells, and no new wells are planned in the field after this stage. A cumulative 829000 barrels of oil was produced from the field until the end of 2019. 430 barrels / day of oil is still produced from 9 wells in the field.
